Ludhiana: Even after three months, maximum ATMs of the Ludhiana remain cashless, which irks the residents of the city. Despite of the increase in limit if withdrawing money, most of time there is no cash in ATM. Ghumar Mandi, Chander Nagar, Haibowal, Sherpur Chowk, Model Town, Gill road etc one may go in any direction one has to search which ATM is carrying a cash.
Out of 20 ATMs one hardly fine a single ATM with a long queue to bring out the money.
As its wedding season and examination days one has to travel a lot, people need money, due to lack of cash in ATM’s people face a lot of difficulty. As out of station people who come along with their children to get their examination done.
As around seventy percent ATM’s due to lack of cash were shutter down in the different parts of Ludhiana and periphery areas. Despite the claim of government that there would be no problem of cash after 50 days, nothing much has been done in this regard.
Moreover, due to ongoing wedding season also problem is going on as people have to give shoguns. Moreover which ATMs have cash maximum of them doesn’t have 500 notes and people facing difficulty in giving 500 Shagun.
The main issue of concern is that currency of 500 has not reached many ATM’s, which is causing more problem for the city residents and traders who need more cash on daily basis. In the starting days of the month people are getting more high and dry over the cashless ATM’s as most of them wants to withdraw their salary from the ATM.
“I have got salary in account last day, but I have checked number of ATM since last day they don’t have cash. I don’t have time to go to bank. I don’t know when this situation will get right”, rue, Rajwinder Kaur, a gym employee.
