Patiala: The Prime Minister, Narinder Modi’s decision regarding Demonetisation taken in November last still making its impact over the life of the common man even though Modi claimed normalcy in availability, of the cash in the country especially in ATMs. Here in Patiala district now after 114 days of the decision, the people are crying for the cash as about 90 percent of the ATMs have gone dry without cash and they are running from one to other ATM for the cash but in vain.
In Patiala alone when talked to a section of the people about it then most of the people make an outcry against this saying that still the issue of the Demonetisation haunt the public and the government’s claims proved totally wrong.
Amarjit Singh, a resident of the Dasmesh Nagar locality and a senior citizen, said that he went from one ATM to other in Tripuri area and fail to get cash even though he spent around Rs 250 on hiring of the rickshaws. He said that how strange to get his own money he has to dole out the additional money from his pocket.
Whereas in Badungar area another citizen Baldev Parkash ecoked the same sentiments and told that he wasted about two and hour time in making rounds to the ATMs and at most of the places he gets the shutters down at the ATMs.
On the other hand one Student, Rakesh Kumar said that he has to deposit his fee in the University so he tried to use his debit card to get the cash but it’s very strange that he fail to get cash from any of the ATMs as no cash board was put everywhere.
Similarly in the sub-divisional township of Nabha the people are also facing the same problem and crying to get the cash through the ATM’s.One resident of the Pandusar Mohalla in Nabha, Manjot Singh Mann told that he has made one round of the town to use his ATM Card to get money but found no money in any of the ATM. He said that if he found cash in one or other ATM then he found long queues there and it’s difficult to get the money out of those ATM’s.
Another resident Simranjit Kaur lashing over it said that if the Union Government has failed in providing of sufficient cash to the banks then this decision proved wrong as it fail to provide relief to the people and only added in their woes only.
Sandhya Batta another resident said that she run pillar to post to get the money but in vain. She said that in most of the ATM’s there is no cash but if she found in one then it’s vending out Rs 2,000 currency as she only want to take out Rs. 1,500 so it become difficult for him to get the required cash so she returned to her house without the cash. She said that now what will the people do as they fail in getting their own cash out from the ATM’s and its a government failure and the government fail in delivering because of which the people facing harassment.
