Bathinda: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today visited the site near here, where foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences to be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 November 2016.
Badal accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary Jagpal Singh Sandhu, Divisional Commissioner VK Meena, Secretary PWD Jaspal Singh, Inspector General of Police SK Asthana, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori took a round of stage and its surroundings to take stock of preparations. He directed Deputy Commissioner Thori to ensure adequate arrangements in view of public rally to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi besides seating, parking, water supply, route plan, medical arrangements etc.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori informed that Prime Minister will also address a public gathering after laying the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 926 crore on Bathinda-Dabwali Road.
Giving details of function Thori said that Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Union Health Minster JP Nadda, Union Food Processing Industries Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla and other dignitaries will grace the occasion.
