A total of 14,689 aspirants had appeared in the test conducted by BFUHS in two shifts, 7,292 in the first and 7,397 in the second shift, on June 11. Aspirants were clueless about the results as the initial date of declaration given by the university was June 15, but the university was dilly-dallying till Tuesday evening. The declaration of results comes as a great relief for the medical aspirants of the state. It had been claimed by the students around 110 questions out of 400 were wrong and students had even demanded grace marks against those questions.
BHUHS Vice Chancellor Dr Raj Bahadur had constituted three committees of the subject experts of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology to look into the matter. The committee members had been selected from top institutes including AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr Bahadur said the calculation of percentile has been done to decimal seven digits which speaks the precision of this method. The topper of the first shift and second shift are equated to 100 percentile and rest of the candidates’ marks are normalised in relation to the toppers. Lovish Gupta of Faridkot has topped the exam, followed by Arvind Gulati of Talwandi Bhai, Ferozepur and Suneel Garg of Patiala.
Eligibility criterion for the general category candidates is 50 pc marks and 45 pc for SC/BC and candidates with locomotive disability.
