Indian cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s special connection with Jalandhar was a known secret but not many people knew that during his initial days, Captain Cool travelled for three days by train to reach this sports city to purchase his prized possession- a Beat All Sports (BAS-Vampire) bat.
Dhoni, who has been playing with the world famous BAS-Vampire bat made in Jalandhar was elated to share that for a cricketer, two cities hold high esteem in his life- Jalandhar and Meerut.
“In fact, no cricketer can ever forget his connection with these two cities, known for their world-class handcrafted bats. Even foreign cricketers also believe that there was something special in the bats made in Jalandhar and Meerut,” he said.
Amidst loud cheers and mad rush of youth at Lovely Professional University (LPU) Phagwara, Dhoni launched the official trailer of his biopic – ‘M S Dhoni- The untold story’. Dhoni was accompanied by film director Neeraj Pandey and Fox Star Studios, Chief Executive Officer Vijay Singh.
Pandey also shared that the film was shot at real locations, where actor Sushant Singh Rajput practiced for three hours daily on the ground with the coach, trainer and support staff to make it a real to reel experience. “The story of being a ticket collector to iconic cricketer needs to be told,” he added.
Even Dhoni said that Sushant Singh Rajput acted so well in the film that after putting in nine months of rigorous practice, his way of talking, walking and playing had become akin to his.
