Sharing latest report obtained from health officials, Agrawal said that special camps have been established in the affected areas. Chlorine tablets were also being distributed. More than dozen teams of health officials have been deputed.District Epidomologist, Dr Ramesh Bhagat informed that as of now 31 patients have been admitted in Civil Hospital Ludhiana whereas less affected patients are getting medicines from camps.But the the number of patients suffering from this water-borne problem is much higher in the city as well as peripheral areas going by the estimates of the private doctors.
Some of have reported that on an average 10-15 patients were coming to their clinics daily especially in downtown areas of the city. As per the WHO, Diarrhoea is defined as the passage of three or more loose or liquid stools per day (or more frequent passage than is normal for the individual). Frequent passing of formed stools is not diarrhoea, nor is the passing of loose, “pasty” stools by breastfed babies. It is usually the symptom of gastrointestinal infection, which can be caused by a variety of viral, parasitic and bacteria organisms.Its symptoms include Watery stools, Abdominal cramps, Thin or loose stools, Sense of urgency to have a bowel movement, Nausea and vomiting.
