Jalandhar: The maiden ‘Digital India Campaign’ Van launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under his flagship program ‘Digital India Campaign’ was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner ADC (G) here on Saturday. Under this initiative of the Centre Government, the ‘Digital India Campaign’ van would cover as many as 50 places in Jalandhar and highlight the achievements of the Modi government in the past two years. ADC (G) Girish Dhayalan said that the staff of the Digital India Campaign van would cover two places daily.
“On the first day, the van would reach Boparai and Uggi village of Nakodar Sub Division. Through electronic slides inside the van, the public would be made aware of the Sewa Kendra, Digi lockers, Adhar card, e-hospital and e-post facilities”, he said. The ADC also maintained that artists were roped in for performing skits on various schemes of the government. “Games and quiz contests have also been planned for the children in the van.
At the villages, the local sarpanch, panchayat members and villagers would take part in the campaigning”, he added. Dhayalan also highlighted that under the Digital India Campaign, Punjab government’s online schemes would also be promoted. “The aim of flagging off the Digital India Campaign was to create awareness about the various works and flagship programs”, the ADC maintained.
