Fatehgarh Sahib: Sanjiv Berry, District and Sessions Judge, Fatehgarh Sahib on Wednesday inaugurated a legal aid clinic in law department of SGPC run Sri Guru Granth Sahib University, Fatehgarh Sahib.
Sanjiv Berry elucidated that the pre-dominant objective of legal aid clinic would be to propagate information to the students as well as to the public at large abut the various welfare and beneficent schemes being provided by the legal services authority, benefits of lok adalat mediation and other alternative dispute resolution measure.
It was also notified by him that Narinder Kumar Sharma, panel advocate would man the clinic 2 days in a week and would also assist the students of University or any other legal aid or advice seeker in availing any of the services/schemes being provided by the legal services authority. Prashant Verma, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Fatehgarh Sahib informed that District and Sessions Judge also carried out an animated interaction with the students and encouraged them to zealously participate in the entire process.
On this occasion Dr Gurmohan Singh Walia vice chancellor, Dr B S Bhatia Dean, Dr Pritpal Singh Registrar, Dr Sukhdarshan Singh Khehra , Head legal Department, Dr R K Sharma, Head commerce Department, N S Sekhon Cheif Security officer, Dr Sunnaina, Assistant Professor, Ripudaman Singh Assistant Professor were also present.
