Jalandhar: Rs 1.69 lakh stolen from PSPCL’s bill deposit machine
Jalandhar – Rs 1.69 rupees lakh have been stolen from the PSPCL (Punjab State Power Corporation Limited) from Boota Mandi office in Jalandhar on Saturday. Electricity board had installed the automatic bill depositing machines in the office recently, from which money was stolen yesterday night. One person has already been arrested by the police involved in this incident. On Saturday morning, when the machine was opened Rs 1.69 lakh were missing.
According to the data, the bills amounting more than Rs 2 lakh were deposited, but only Rs 45,000 cash was collected from the machine. The machine is owned and operated by private company TSI after the theft officials of the private company were summoned by the Power Corporation official Pradeep Kakkar, and also filed a complaint in police station. Kakkar said that police have arrested the person who was posted on the duty, but cash has not been recovered.
