When about 5 years had been passed, the bank employees reached the village Patwari and asked to take appropriate action against the farmers due to not submitting the installments of the debt. Then Patwari replied that the clearance certificates of the land were already issued by the bank and we have cleared the mortgage of the land with the certificates reference. After investigating the fake certificates submitted by farmers, the bank staff was shocked, as originally no certificates were issued by the bank.Later, the bank employees took to the SSP (Rural) Jalandhar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and lodged a complaint against accused culprits. The investigation revealed that bank’s private driver Beant Singh of Ferozepur had provided the blank clearance certificates to Gurdeep Singh. Where on Gurdeep used fake signatures of Clerk, Assistant Manager and Manager by creating a clearance certificate and giving to Patwari and taking possession of the land mortgaged from the bank. Similarly, his brother Dalora Singh also got a copy of the blank clearance certificate issued by the driver and prepared a new clearance certificate of the bank and a fake sign of the bank employees and got the possession of land mortgaged by the bank. Driver Beant Singh admitted to the police in his statements that he had given empty certificate only to Gurdeep Singh stealing from a bank. After investigation, the case was forwarded to Shahkot police station where police have lodged an FIR against both accused and driver.
