Commission appointed 3 Gen , 3 Expenditure and 1 Police observers to check all poll related exercises
Bathinda: The Election Commission of India has deputed 7 election observers for Bathinda district with a view to keep a close tab on all activities related to Vidhan Sabha polls scheduled for February 4.
Disclosing this on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that Commission has appointed 3 General, 3 Expenditure and 1 Police observers to check all poll related exercises being conducted by political parties. He said that election observers were being taken meetings with different teams including Static Surveillance, Flying Squads, video viewing, police officers to take stock of ongoing activities, security and other poll related measures.
He said that all observers would remain in the city till the election process was over. He said that if anyone has doubt regarding expenditure of any candidate, they can approach these observers and register their points.
The Deputy Commissioner said that observers will visit all constituencies vis-à-vis holding meetings with district administration and concerned Returning Officers. He said that Observers were staying in Gulmohar Guest House of National Fertilisers Limited and Field Hostel at Bathinda.
Giving details of Observers Thori said that T Udhayachandran, IAS, R Rajesh Kumar, IAS and Anil Kumar, IAS had been deputed as General Observers while Anidya Kr Bandonpandhy, IRS, Kuldeep Kumar Singh, IRS and Dhirendra Mani Tripath, IRS were Expenditure Observers. He said that P G Singsit, IPS would be police observer. He said that the district administration had also deputed liaison officers with observers.
