Rampura Phul (Bathinda) :Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday said every vote for AAP would be a vote for radicals and take the state back to turbulent times.
Addressing a huge gathering in favour of party candidate Sikander Singh Maluka here, Sukhbir said AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s night stay at the residence of Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) terrorist Gurinder Singh Ghali had proved the AAP-radical nexus. “It is clear that Kejriwal has entered into an alliance with extremist elements who have promised to help him win the elections by defaming the ruling SAD- BJP alliance,” he said.
Asking the people to beware of the AAP, he said if by any chance AAP came to power peace and communal harmony would be destroyed in Punjab. “Our government has been successful in marginalising radicals. Kejriwal has given them a new lease of life by consorting with them repeatedly. Earlier, he had breakfast with radical elements in Mohali. He has also met the “nakli” jathedars supported by separatist elements.”
Speaking about the efforts made by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to maintain peace and communal harmony, he said radical forces had been severely marginalised during Chief Minister Badal’s rule. He said now radicals were getting a fresh lease of life because of support from AAP. “Please unite to shun extremism and push AAP back to Haryana and Delhi,” he added.
Speaking about the SAD manifesto, Sukhbir said the party had always delivered on its promises. “Now we have promised to waive off loans of all small farmers at the first meeting of the state Cabinet once we come into power. We have also promised a Rs 100 bonus on both wheat and paddy. We have also taken a decision to provide five lakh pucca houses to the houseless besides distributing five kg sugar at Rs 10 per kg and two kg ghee at Rs 25 per kg to the disadvantaged.”
