DP Correspondent , Jalandhar, July 1, 2017:-On first day of implementation of new indirect tax system ‘Goods and Services Tax’ in India, the Excise and Taxation Department Jalandhar has set up `Facilitation Center` at newly constructed GST Bhawan here to help the industrialists, traders and other concerned corners for up to mark compliance of the new tax regime.Divulging the details Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner Jalandhar Paramjit Singh said that two ETOs and Inspector rank officers have been appointed as Nodal Officers to supervise the work of this Facilitation Center meant for helping Industrialists and Traders for registration, On-line GSTN portal work and other operational works insync with the rules and regulations of GST.Paramjit Singh said that for best compliance of this new tax system, the offices of Excise and Taxation Department Jalandhar have been shifted at newly Constructed GST Bhawan near Inter State Bus Terminus Jalandhar city on the first day of implementation of this landmark tax reform in the country.
The aim behind this shifting of offices as per directions from the head office was to provide all services under one roof. “Unifying of multi taxes into a single tax with the implementation of GST will pave way for new era of growth and development. Besides, it will also create conducive environment for the industry and service sectors”, added AETC.The AETC informed that the offices which have been shifted included DETC Divisional Office, DETC Appeals Office, DETC and AETC Mobile Wing Offices, AETC Jalandhar -1 and AETC Jalandhar -2 Offices.
On the occasion Central Excise Commissioner S.S.Katyal and Joint Commissioner Parul Garg along with other officers of the department also held discussions with officers of Excise and Taxation Department Punjab to provide best possible services to the industrialists and traders under GST.Those present on this occasion were Joint Commissioner Excise and Taxation Punjab Jaspal Garg, DETC B.K.Virdi, DETC Mobile Wing H.P.S.Ghotra, DETC Appeals Maninder Kaur, AETC Darbir Raj, AETCs Jatinder Kaur and Daljit Kaur.
