Rajpura: Five armed robbers looted a family en-route from Mathura on NH-1 at Rajpura, on Tuesday. The miscreants robbed off the jewellery and cash and managed to flee from the spot.
While narrating the story, family members said that they spotted two tyres of their car got punctured and halted their vehicle near village Rajgarh, where the incident had taken place. He added that the car was intercepted by the armed men and assaulted a family member.
The police said that in their statements victims told that the robbers take away the gold ornaments along with Rs 30,000 cash and other valuables leaving behind two persons injured. The injured were identified as Manmohan Garg and Rajesh Kumar, duo were rushed to nearby hospital as they were sustaining serious injuries. Further the doctors referred them PGIMER for their treatment.
Taking the serious call of the incident, SP of Rajpura Rajinder Singh Sohal among other police officials reached the spot and initiated the investigation. SP added that during the investigation it has learnt the robbers have opted a new modus-operandi to commit the robbery, to puncture the tyre was the plan of the conspiracy suspecting a gang behind the incident. The police have floated the information to the police of adjoining areas to get lead of robbers.
