Chandigarh:To commemorate 86th martyrdom day of the national martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, Fazilka Police, under the Community policing initiative, on Wednesday launched a 120-km cycle rally from Asafwala border to Hussainiwala border in Ferozepur district.
The bicycle rally started from the Martyrs’ Memorial at Asafwala village near Sulemanki on the India-Pakistan border in Fazilka district in the morning after Ferozepur DIG Sukhchain Singh Gill and Divisional Commissioner VK Meena flagged off. This cycle rally, in which over 1,000 people from different walks of life participated, is scheduled to reach Hussainiwala on March 23
Fazilka Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ketal Baliram Patil also pedaled along the youngsters to encourage them in the mission with also giving a message to opt for pollution free modes of commuting.
The cyclists will offer floral tributes to the martyrs at Hussainiwala on Thursday during the state-level patriotic function which government is going to organize there.
