Ludhiana: Four city girls who got selected for senior women baseball world cup matches made city proud again. Matches are going to held at Gijang city of South Korea from September 3 onwards
All of them are national level players and performing fairly well at national camp which is under taken by National Institution of Sports Bangalore. Players got selected for world cup are Amanjot Kaur Bains (captain), Arshdeep Kaur, Raj Rani and Birpal Kaur. They all are going to represent India at world cup matches.
During the occasion, Coach Harbir Singh claimed that all the members of federation feel very happy when they came across the fact that the selection of all four players have been done for the world cup to be held at South Korea.
A total of 20 players who got selected for World Baseball Cup, from all over the country under which four players are from Ludhiana. He further added that we hope all will play well at world cup matches and would bring laurels to the city.
He further stated that all are going to bear the expense by their own and still they need some kind of financial help either it should be from the government or from non-governmental organisations.
Baseball Federation Secretary Sukhdev Singh Aulakh also congratulated the selected players and believed that they will create the history and will uplift the name of our city.
