Capt Amarinder Singh on Saturday stated that proposed formation of fourth front ‘Awaz-e-Punjab’ gives an edge to Congress in Punjab. He further said that it is a democracy and everybody has right to contest and seek people’s mandate. It is a sign of healthy and robust democracy that you have many contestants and contenders. There are already so many political parties and formations and if one more adds up it will not make any difference.

He said, Congress was going from strength to strength and was getting support of all sections of the society, particularly youth. “Congress is the only party which is secular, democratic and involves and appeals to every section and segment of the society”, he said, while no party can match its strength and appeal.

On Saturday, Charanjit Singh Channi met Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. Channi said that Shiromani Akali Dal Badal- BJP and AAP party are disintegrating daily and many of their senior leaders are quitting them or looking for other options. The Congress party in Punjab stands united under the leadership of Capt Amarinder Singh. Congress has very successfully completed its first phase of zone level programs in which all 117 constituencies have been covered. The congress will fight the ruling alliance in coming Vidhan Sabha session aswell. He also assured Congress VP that they will corner ruling government on issue of Law and Order, Farmers debt, Urban issues and Dalit Atrocities.
