Gang looters held, 9.61 lakh recovered In a major crackdown, the Model town police have arrested a gang of looters and recovered nine lakh sixty one thousand cash and motorcycles from their possession. The accused use to target money exchangers or employees of private companies carrying cash. In last two months the accused had looted two money exchangers in Model town area. The accused has been identified as Avtar Singh alias Tara, Pardeep Kumar, Munish Kumar, Gursewak singh, Anurdh alias Prince and Vivek kumar. Commissioner of Police RN Dhoke said that the few members of gang follow their target and keep informing other members of gang. At safe place the gang members loot cash from the victim. Gang looters held, 9.61 lakh recovered.On July 6, the gang had looted Indian and foreign currency of approximately 22 lakh from money exchanger Amit Malhotra at Gill Road. The victim was going on Activa scooter when the accused thrashed him and looted his bag containing cash. In another incident the same gang attempted loot from Money exchanger Naresh Kumar on August 10. The accused damage the vehicle of victim with bricks and attempted to loot the bag of victim. Police commissioner said that the accused were involved in several cases and more information in expected during investigation. The accused were already facing cases at police station Model Town.
