Gidderbaha truck union illegally confiscates two seeds-loaded trucks
Bathinda(DP Correspondent) – Despite the Amarinder government’s declaration about the disbanding of all truck unions across the state, things have hardly changed on ground. After the truck operators’ goondaism in Bathinda district, which has badly affected the operations of Guru Gobind Singh refinery, the same has now reached Muktsar district also. In a latest episode, Mukesh Kumar, a Gidderbaha-based Jindal seed factory owner, on Tuesday alleged that some members of the disbanded local truck operators’ union not only trespassed his premises but also forcibly took away two trucks loaded with seed bags.He alleged that the drivers of the vehicles were also kidnapped by the accused truck union members. In a complaint lodged with the district police, Mukesh alleged that he had demanded the trucks from the Truck Operators’ Union a few days ago to send the product to other states. However, the union members denied the same stating that all trucks were occupied in transporting paddy, with also a suggestion to call the vehicles from outside.“Following the same, we hired two trucks from Hisar and when the loaded vehicles were about the leave the factory, the truck union operators reached there and using force took away the trucks and their drivers along,” alleged Mukesh Kumar in his police complaint, which was also supported by a CCTV footage. Meanwhile, receiving the complaint SSP marked the inquiry to DSP Gidderbaha from there it was further sent to Gidderbaha SHO for investigation.Later in the evening, the police and truck union leaders asked the factory owner to take the truck out of the Union complex, which he denied. Blocking the main gate of the complex with cars, the factory owner supported by dozens of persons from the town, announced that they would not leave the place until police register the case against the union activists, of whom they identified five. Till filing the news report, Police were in a process to settle the matter.
