Jalandhar: Emphasising that Punjab will not allow even a single drop to flow into Haryana, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday said that Punjab government is exploring all legal options in this case.
The Deputy Chief Minister also said that any decision in this regard will be taken during Punjab assembly session convened on November 16. “Na kisi nu vadan dawange, na kisi nu pani lain dawange ( Neither we would allow anybody to enter into the state nor we would allow a single drop of water to flow into the other state)”, he said.
Sukhbir Badal evaded all direct queries on SYL issue but said that the state government is committed to safeguard its river water flow into Haryana. “I cannot comment anything on this matter. The SC judgement has come and appropriate decision would be taken after November 16 assembly session”, he added.
Talking to the media persons on the sidelines of launch of Ujjwala Yojana, Deputy CM preferred to keep mum over the issue of the already released water to Haryana and Rajasthan. “
When asked about the blame of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that pollution in Delhi was due to stubble burning in Punjab, Sukhbir Badal said, “Pollution in Delhi was not due to Punjab.
We do not deny that stubble burning is going on in Punjab but we have got nothing to do with the Delhi pollution,” he added.
