Govt. in dilemma, Vigilance initiate probe in nursing scam exposed by BJP leader.
Chandigarh(Narinder Jagga): The Punjab Government is dilemma over the alleged corruption case, which has been brought in the light by the BJP leader. The alleged scam is related to Punjab Nursing Council, whose senior Assistant Darshi Devi had been arrested taking Rs 20,000 bribe red handed by the Vigilance Bureau. Sources disclosed that Vigilance has found number of irregularities in admissions, bogus admissions and embezzlement in online system of council. After the initial enquiry of the scam, now the Registrar of the Council has appealed for transfer to Amritsar from Chandigarh, who has already been declared ‘tainted’ in the report of three members Secretaries Committee, constituted by the Punjab Government to probe irregularities. Sources revealed that some more officers are under the scanner of Vigilance who had recommended the tainted registrar for one year extension after her retirement.Daily Post was the first, who brought the matter in the light in December, 2017. Now the matter has been taken in hand by the BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, who submitted complaint to the Vigilance Bureau ten days ago for action. But after the arrest of Senior Assistant in Bathinda, the Bureau got the tip to go ahead. She is now in judicial custody. After it the Vigilance Bureau has recovered the record from the head office of Punjab Nursing Council, Mohali. Sources told that number of irregularities have been found in the record. President, Registrar, her son, an owner of a software company and some other officers, employees and some Nursing colleges are on the radar of the Vigilance.Other hand, the Registrar has sent an appeal to the Health Department to transfer her in her parent department, in College of Nursing, Amritsar, where she had been working as Sister Tutor, before joining as Registrar in Mohali from 2014. Talking to Daily Post, the Health Minister Brahm Mahindra accepted about the transfer application of Registrar and said that the issue is under consideration and will be decided later. He also said that nobody would be spared whosoever will be found guilty in corruption case. Other hand, the BJP leader Grewal said that he was not in credit race as it was his duty to bring the corruption case before the Government.
