Rs 10 crore funds will be released immediately as first installment
Chandigarh: Punjab government has announced Rs 20 crore grant to make Amritsar city clean and garbage free. The financial help will strengthen the Municipal Corporation to carry out Municipal Solid Waste management work effectively and efficiently.
Through Swachh Bharat Mission, Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi, Department of Local Government, Punjab has decided to allocate Rs 20 crore to financially assist the Municipal Corporation Amritsar to cover C&T expenses incurred by MC Amritsar in last 3 months. Rs 10 crore funds will be released immediately as first installment.
The state government has promised to continue helping municipalities to create pollution free environment to flourish healthy life and environment. It is informed that Essel Infra Projects Ltd in partnership with Hitachi has been handling Amritsar Cluster Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSW) activities. DP
