Gulzar Singh Ranike, who is candidate of the Shirmani Akali Dal (SAD) reached at Tilba Baba Farid Ji in Faridkot on Monday and took blessings of Baba Baba Sheikh Farid Ji before starting the campaign. Ranike thanked the party high command and expressed his happiness. Replying to a question relating to Bargadi and Behbal Kalan sacrilege incidents and police firing in this area, he said that the Akali Dal could not think of doing such activities.
The ruling party along with other parties is trying to defame the Akali Dal by giving it political colour but he said ‘Waheguru’ knows all and we also want that the truth should come out in public domain. However, he said it is only possible if the investigation will be fair. We are fighting on the issue of peace and development, he added.Talking about Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he said that it was some kind of wave in a few pockets of the state due to which AAP won four Lok Sabha seats in 2014 elections.
But, at present, people know about the AAP this time and ‘my fight is with the Congress,’ Ranike added.When asked that the Akali Dal is not happy with SIT investigation, he said that ‘the Akali Dal was not opposing, but the political shades behind this should not be tolerated. The SIT should do his job honestly.’ He said that ‘the SIT chief was not speaking anything on this issue, but IG Kunwar Partap is making open statements in the press, it is politics.
‘Former minister for Higher Education and Languages Sikandar Singh Maluka, who was along with Ranike during campaign said that Gulzar Singh Ranike is an honest and hardworking man. People know about Ranike and the work done by him. Not alone the party, but the voters also cannot have a better candidate for Fardikot segment. The Aam Aadmi Party and Sukhpal Khaira group candidates would forfeit their deposits in the polls, Maluka claimed.Tota Singh, Mantar Brar, Suba Singh Badal, Dimpi Dhillon, Bunty Romana and a large number of the SAD-BJP combine workers were also present on this occasion.
