Bathinda: The transportation work of products from Guru Gobind Singh Refinery near Rama Mandi remained affected on Saturday. Few transporters came forward to ferry products in open body trucks. It is worth mentioning that a clash ensued between transporters outside the refinery on Thursday night in which truck union supporters allegedly damaged some trucks
Meanwhile, a fight is going between Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) backed Rama Mandi Truck Union and transporters being allotted the work of transporting Sulphar, Pet Coke and Polypropylene (PP) from refinery, which is to be ferried in open body trucks. The union is demanding preference in work over other transporters.
It is worth mentioning that officials of refinery in a complaint to district administration last month requested to register a case against the Rama Mandi Truck Union for allegedly threatening transporters and not allowing them to enter the refinery premises to lift the petroleum products.
