Bathinda: Five days after the Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Akali Dal MLA from Balluana assembly segment of Fazilka district Gurtej Singh Ghuriana’s wife Rajvansh Kaur allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her place in Abohar for being irked her husband’s closeness with an Istri Akali Dal leader of the constituency. The party removed Jagdish Kaur Neetu and appointed Gurinder Kaur as the new chief of the unit.
The announcement of the new name was made by Nirmla Bishnoi, district head of the women wing, following the orders from Istri Akali Dal chief Bibi Jagir Kaur. Rajvansh Kaur (56) was admitted to Max Hospital Bathinda in the wee hours on Monday, where the doctors had diagnosed her with the complaint of poisonous substance. She is now recovering well, as the doctors informed. According to sources, Rajvansh had a dispute with her husband and the two had a fight at their Ganga Vihar Colony located house in Abohar on Sunday night after which she consumed poisonous substance.
People close to Ghuriana family had suspected the role of the Istri Akali Dal leader, in the episode as Rajvansh Kaur had objection to her proximity with Gurtej Singh Ghuriana. There were also reports that Rajvansh had received some photographs of that woman with her husband during an occasion at Shergarh village in Abohar sub division, which triggered the quarrel. Sources informed that Ghuriana family had earlier too had some dispute due to that Gobindgarh based woman during his oath taking ceremony. It’s learnt that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had once objected to the interference of that woman in question in the events of Balluana constituency.
The matter had also reached with Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and a discussion was held at his New Delhi residence over the issue. Gurtej Singh Ghuriana claimed that his wife had mistakenly consumed the wrong medicine that reacted.
