Nawanshahr: Punjab Gau Sewa Commission Chairman Kimti Bhagat today advocated handing over the reins of district-level government-run gaushalas to non-government organizations running gaushalas across the state for their effective and better management. Kimti Bhagat who accompanied by DC Vipul Ujwal today visited Gobind Gau Dham Gaushala, Chandpur Rurki, said he had already submitted a proposal in this regard to CM Parkash Singh Badal and would shortly see him personally to discuss the issue.
He added that his proposal had the potential of addressing many issues and hardships which the managements of gaushalas have to face while running them (gaushalas). Vipul Ujwal on the occasion minutely observed the functioning of Chandpur Rurki Gaushala so that similar infrastructure could be provided at recently constructed Dilawarpur gaushala.
He also urged the Chairman to prepare a draft of “Memorandum of Understanding” (MOU) in case his proposal of handing over the running of government gaushalas was accepted by the state government. A number of senior officials including ADC Paramjit Singh, SDM Balachaur Jagjit Singh, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Dr Amarjit Singh Multani, BDPO Saroya and activists of BJP and some other NGOs were also present.
