Mansa: Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday asked the Congress to tell what it did for the welfare of farmers in Punjab. She said that led by the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, the SAD-BJP government gave many facilities in last nine years, whereas Amarinder Singh government had no focus on developmental issues.
From power connections given for irrigation to farmers to free power, the Punjab government has always stood by its farmers, she claimed, adding that the white fly pest had attacked at many places in the country but the SAD-BJP government in Punjab was the only one to conduct girdawris and give Rs 650 cr as compensation. She also claimed about the manifold increase in the state’s annual income. She conducted the sangat darshan of villages Beerewal Dogra, Andianwali , Dariyapur , Rangarh, Beeroke Khurd, Phulluwala Dogra and Mal Singh Wala where she listened to the problems of people and gave grants worth Rs 2.25 crores for various developmental works.
