Health Dept full alert swine flu.
Punjab Health Department here has pulled its socks smelling the threat of the swine flu and dengue and it put into action its staff and instructions have been issued to all the state government run and the private hospitals to be prepared to face the challenge and also told to set up separate special wards to house the patients as well.The Civil Surgeon Dr Balwinder Singh is holding meetings with the different hospitals and checking the preparedness to fight and tackle the diseases in the coming days. He told that the department has sought required medical sample checking kits, masks and the anti-flu tablets from the Directorate.He added that the department is trying its best for the setting up of the isolation wards to house the patients suffering from the Swine Flu and the Dengue and every thing is put in the order. He clarified that whereas the state government run hospitals will provide a free treatment the private hospitals will charge fees. Meanwhile, he has sought cooperation from the social organisations and other organisations in this endeavor.
