Patiala: The daily commuters on Thursday faced worst time as the PRTC employees blocked Patiala-Samana highway near village Dhainthal after the employees of the Toll Plaza there, beat up a PRTC bus conductor. Because of the road blockage long queues of the vehicles were seen on both sides of the toll plaza and the people were compelled to face the harassment.
The road blockage was only lifted when the police came and after investigation registered a case against the employee of the toll plaza.
The incident happen when a PRTC bus on Patran-Patiala route came to toll plaza and it’s conductor Sandeep Singh came down and gave a Rs Two thousand note to the employee to pay the toll and asked for the toll payment slip but the employee of the toll plaza objected over the note and thus misbehaved with bus conductor. When Sandeep Singh objected to it then he called his associates and tried to rough him as well. As the arguments hots up the employees of toll plaza beat up Sandeep Singh.
When the toll plaza employees beat up Bus Conductor Sandeep Singh over the issue of giving a Rs. Two thousand note than all other drivers of the PRTC buses halted their buses and blocked the road. Meanwhile the toll plaza employees fled from the scene after seeing the PRTC staff in strength.
The agitated PRTC Employees than fully blocked the road and demanded action against the accused and registration of the case as well. Even as the passengers of the buses and other daily commuters have to face a lot of problems due to this action by the PRTC staff but in vain. On the other hand SAD (Amritsar)’s district President , Sarrop Singh Sandha along with another senior leader of the party, Bhai Rajinder Singh Fatehgarh Chhana also reached at the spot and lend their support to the agitating PRTC staff and also demanded immediate action against the culprits.
Whereas later the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Samana Sadar Police Station, Inspector Harwinder Singh Khaira reached there along with the police force and recorded the statement’s of the PRTC’s Bus Conductor, Sandeep Singh and after investigating the matter order registration of a case under various sections of the IPC against the accused Neeraj.
The road blockage was lifted when the police announced registration of the case and assured action against the accused as soon as possible.The passengers and daily commuters than get relief from the harassment.
