Hoshiarpur, October 20 : – After they went missing, the bodies of Hoshiarpur based married boy and a class XII girl was found hanging from a tree in Goa on Friday. The bodies of Baljit Singh (25), a resident of Bassi Jalal and Harinder Kaur, a student from Bassi Kaloa village in Hoshiarpur was found hanging from a Palm tree in Colva Beach of East Goa. Both the boy and the girl were missing from October 4. A passer-by noticed the bodies hanging from the tree on Friday morning and informed the Goa Police.The Goa police sent the bodies for post mortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim while the Punjab Police was informed. Notably, the girl’s mother had lodged a complaint against Baljit Singh at Tanda Police station on October 7. In her complaint, Narinder Kaur stated that Baljit, who was already married, had misled her daughter, after which they went missing.A Tanda Police team informed the parents of the the deceased man and the girl on Friday. It came to light that Harinder Kaur was a student and was yet to clear her class XII compartment exam while Baljit used to work at a Tent House in Bassi Kalan.SHO Tanda Inspector Surinder Singh said that the Baljit was married while the Harinder Kaur was a student. “On the complaint of Narinder Kaur, the mother of Harinder Kaur, we lodged an FIR against Baljit Singh for forcibly taking her daughter along for marriage”, he said. The SHO said that they have informed the families of the duo. “We are waiting for their families to leave for Goa and claim the bodies”, he said.
