All India Anaganwadi workers and helpers Union burn the effigy of Govt
Ferozepur(Subhash Kakkar) – All India Anaganwadi Workers and Helpers Union (AITUC staged a dharna and hold a rally outside the DAC complex on Wednesday and burnt te effigy of the Punjab Government. All the spokespersons condemned the state government to decide to start the pre nursery classes in the primary schools. Addressing the rally the they accused thePunjab government to plan for closing of the Anganwadi centres in the state and unemployed the 54 workers and helpers engaged in the Angan wadi centres in the state under a conspiracy. Balwinder Kaur said that the state government had decided to start pre nursery classes in the primary schools without declaring or planning any policy and had been declared that teachers would teach them in the primary schools. As per this decision of the government children from 3-6 year group would be admitted in the primary schools. If so happens all the 54 thousand Anganwadi employees would become unemployed because before this decision the Anganwadi staff had been looking after the children of this age group and giving the pre nursery education to them in the Anganwadi centres. Charanjit Kaur said that the union had beenn writing to the government since a month to solve this problem with mutual understanding, but the state government had tuned deaf and dumb towards their demands. The union had warned the government that if their demands would not be accepted and the government would not reconsider its decision they would go on warpath and in gherao the residences of all the MLAs.
