Ludhiana : – To mark their protest against Goods and Service Tax (GST), the Janta Nagar Small Scale Manufacturer association has decided to burn the effigy of Union Finance Minister and GST council on October 6. A meeting of Small Scale manufacturer Association was held on Tuesday in which the industrialists criticised the union government for implementing GST.President of Association, Jaswinder Singh Thukral said that GST is setback for Industry and after its implementation several small scale industrial units were set to close. The policies and tax slabs under GST, implemented by center government has disturbed the business circle and forced the industrialist to close their units. Thukral said that apart from Industrialists facing setback, the daily wagers, laborers and traders feared unemployment due to recession in market.The members of Association said that the website of GST didn’t work properly and when they failed to file GST return on time heavy penalty was imposed. The members of Association said that they along with other industrialist’s organizations will burn the effigy of Union Finance Minister and GST council on October 6. During the meeting, Inderjeet Singh, Vailati Ram, Amrik Singh karamsar, Satwinder Singh Hunjan, Harjit Singh Panesar, Pawan Kumar Dhand, Ajmer Singh Grewal, Surinder Singh besides several others were present.
