Chandigarh:A delegation of Panjab University and Joint Students Action Committee (JSAC) will be meeting Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday to discuss the issue of financial crunch of PU. The committee has also called an open meeting of students on Wednesday only in the lawn adjacent to the AC Joshi Library.
The newly reconstituted JSAC includes representatives of SFS, PSU-Lalkaar, SFI, AISA, ASA, PUSU-Evening, which has announced that more organisations are likely to join. All the organisations agreed to take the ongoing struggle against fee-hike further and for quashing of false cases registered on students.
However, on Monday Panjab University Sangharsh Himayat Committee which is a joint forum of 42 organisations from Punjab met with Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover, but the V-C didn’t respond positively to them. Members of the JSAC said that they strongly condemned the witch-hunt of students being done by Police and University authorities. Students whose names were not even in the FIR are being targeted.
