Ludhiana : – As the opposition Party- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is on backfoot over the summons issued to Leader of Opposition (LOP) Sukhpal Khaira by Fazilka Court in drugs case, the government has preponed the Assembly session in November. Every year the Assembly session convened in December but this time the three days session will be held in last week of November. The official announcement of dates of Assembly session will be made in next few days and the governor will call winter session.Sources said that the government wants early Assembly session as the opposition party in Punjab- AAP is on backfoot due to name of Leader of opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira cropped in Drug case. Last week, Fazilka court has issued non bailable warrants against Khaira. The Congress MLAs will demand resignation of Khaira on moral grounds during the Assembly session.Sukhpal Singh Khaira, a fire brand leader of AAP who is also Leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha takes on government over several issues but this time the ruling party has planned to hit back Khaira as non-bailable warrants was issued against him by Fazilka court in drugs case. Congress MLA from Ludhiana West Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that however the dates of session were not announced formally but the session maybe preponed this time. The session is likely to be held from November 27 to 29. Another reason for early session is Municipal Corporation elections in Patiala, Amritsar and Jalandhar. As the ministers and Congress MLAs will busy in campaigning for MC elections in December the session will be finished in November last week.
