Bambiha (Bathinda): Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Wednesday claimed that the Kohinoor was a great piece of heritage of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s time, which should be with Punjab. She said that besides the diamond, other things of heritage of that time should be returned back too. Harsimrat was here on his Sangat Darshan tour during which she distributed grants to villages and redressed the grievances of people approached her. Speaking on the occasion, she reiterated that no one had rights over the waters of Punjab and not even a single drop of water would be spared to other states. She said SAD-BJP government and people of Punjab are ready to make sacrifices to safeguard the waters of state.
On being asked about the arrival of wheat produce in market and its payments, the Union minister said that the payments were delayed as the previous Congress government had stopped pending amounts of the Punjab. She said that after the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal clarified the things to PM Narendra Modi, the centre would soon clear dues and farmers would start getting the payments very soon. Responding to media’s question on the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) chief Simranjit Singh Mann convening ‘Sarbat Khalsa’, she said that in collaboration with the Congress such people are trying to disturb the harmony of state.
