Malout: In an emergency meeting of lecturers held at Malout, a town of district Muktsar on Saturday, lecturers demanded the promotion of lecturer’s post to Principal’s posts from Punjab government.
According to the lecturers present in the meeting, there are nearly 600 posts lying vacant in different parts of the state, out of which 373 are newly upgraded and 225 others are from existing schools.
Launching an attack on the education department, lecturers complained that the department has failed to function properly due to the shortage of heads in different schools in the state. Adding further they also said that the process of promotion needs to be hastened.
Lecturers also demanded the promotion quote which was approved by the Punjab government in a Cabinet meeting and demanded implementation of A.C.P which according to them has not been functioning for the last three years.
The meeting was attended by Lecturers- Manhor Lal, Vijay Garg, Naib Singh, Dr. Harbhajan, Shivraj, Rajinder Singh Dhillon, Krishan Kumar, Khem Raj, Gurdeep Lal, Sukdeep kaur in Malout.
