Ludhiana is the most populated and centrally located city in Punjab which makes it safe house for hard core criminals, gangsters and militants, said additional director general of police, law and order, Rohit Chaudhary, who was on visit in city.
He said that police will have to be alert as these anti-social elements are more alert than police. He gave some important directions to police commissioner. Further, He added that he was on visit of all the districts of Punjab to check the situation of law and order and was meeting with officers.
He said the department has started a system called “punishment and reward” for police personnel to make them more efficient. The department has asked all the police chiefs to submit a monthly report of their districts containing achievements, sensational crimes, unsolved cases and discipline among officers. Besides this, The ‘Monday Parade’ has been started to observe discipline.
Police commissioner RN Dhoke took strict note on road blocking while protesting. He said that road blocking is a serious problem of city residents. Besides, he strictly asked police officers to take strict action against who violate traffic rules as traffic situation of the city is worse. He added that administration has allocated GLADA ground as the site for protesting. He warned that if anyone blocked any other road in protest, police will register an FIR against them.
