Gurdaspur Oct 13:-The district electoral officer cum returning officer Gurdaspur parliament constituency has made all arrangement for the counting slated to Oct 15.After reviewing the arrangement, Gurlovelee Singh Sidhu deputy commissioner cum district electoral officer told that The counting out of all nine assembly segments Gurdaspur parliament constituency, 6 segments Fatehgarh Churian Dera Baba Nanak, Batala, Qadian, Gurdaspur and Dina Nagar (Reserve) of Gurdaspur district would be held at Sukhjindra collegeGurdaspur and remaining three assembly segments Bhoa (Reserve), Pathankot and Sujanpur of Pathankot district would be held at Beant Engineering college Gurdaspur.
He said that counting would start at 8 A.M and all type of vehicles have been banned with the 100 meters radius of counting centre. The use of Mobile phone also banned in the counting centers. A total of 14 counting tables were set up in each centre and separate arrangements have been made for candidates and their counting agents outside the barricading in the centre.One counting supervisor, assistant supervisor and micro observers have been deployed on the duty to make transpiration counting. Besides SSP Gurdaspur and SSP Batala have made elaborate security arrangements to prevent any unto ward incident during counting. It is worth mentioning that the by election to the Gurdaspur Parliament constituency was held on Oct 11 and a total of 11 candidates including congress candidate Sunil Jakhar, president PPCC , BJP candidate Swaran Salaria, AAP Candidate major General (Retd) Suresh Khajuri and Hindu Shiv Sena Hindustan Rajinder Singh Walia were in the fray.
