Chandigarh(Narinder Jagga): Amid the notorious wave of drug menace in the Punjab, the SGPC has decided to provide free treatment to the drug addicts across the state. In the meeting of Dharma Parchar Committee under the leadership of SGPC President Jathedar Gobind Singh Longowal, it was also decided to start state-wide campaign to aware the people against the drug through awareness camps, texts and plays. Free medical camps and seminars will be conducted during the campaign. Talking to Reporters, SGPC President Longowal told that the committee will provide financial help to those poor families, whose sole earner in the family died due to drugs.Describing the dope test trend as path wandering, he said that the main need of the hour is to take care of youths, who are indulging in drug net. Longowal told that the addicted would be admitted in Guru Ram Dass Hospital, but it will depend on their will. Talking about the religious programme, he said that tri-century of Bhai Kanhaiya ji would be celebrated in glorious way on September 20 in Sri Anandpur Sahib. Committee also expressed resentment about the incident of injuring a Sikh girl student pressuring her to convert her religion to Islam in Islamic University in Avanti Pura Pulwama in J and K. Soon a delegation of SGPC will meet to the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Committee felt that Sikhs girls are not secure in J & K. Some other decisions were also taken in the meeting.
