Ludhiana – In the defamation case filed against Aam Aadmi party leader Sanjay Singh by Bikramjit Singh Majithia, the counsel of former minister Majithia filed application under section 311 of Criminal Procedure Code for deposing more evidence and witness in the court other than the present witnesses. The court of Judicial Magistrate Jagjit Singh has further deferred case for reply of above said application and has fixed next date of hearing on February 17, 2018. The counsels of both complainant and defence sides filed applications for exemption of personal presence of complainant and accused due to non presence in the court. On the last date of hearing, the former Revenue Minister Majithia recorded his eight page statement in the presence of his counsel Damanvir singh Sobti in the court.
According to the complainant, Majithia stated that the Sanjay Singh, a close aide of the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was appointed as Incharge of Aam Aadmi Party Affairs before the 2017 Punjab vidhan sabha election and Singh in a motivated, malicious manner went around the state of Punjab in a targeted manner in a criminal conspiracy and connivance with his political masters of defaming and discrediting him with sole purpose of gaining political ground for his party by hook or crook. The complainant further said that complaint against the accused Sanjay Singhis for making politically motivated scurrilous, false, derogatory, defamatory scandalous statements.
