Amritsar: Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Saturday submitted some newspaper clippings and other documents in the defamation case he filed against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his close aide and party think-tank Ashish Khetan and party’s Punjab affairs in-charge Sanjay Singh on May 20. A local court here has now fixed the next hearing for July 8.
Majithia was represented by advocate Gurnam Singh Rajput. However, no one appeared on behalf of Kejriwal. It is pertinent to mention that Majithia had filed a criminal defamation case against the AAP leaders in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Gurpartap Singh under Sections 499, 500 and 501 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code. Majithia, in his complaint submitted to the court, had claimed that the AAP was bent on maligning his image, along with that of his family, without any basis and had been levelling baseless allegations against him.
