AAP ward president arrested for protesting against encroachment
Ludhiana – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Youth leader and ward 69 president Gurkaran Singh Tinna was arrested when he was on the way to protest against the illegal encroachment in Public Mark in Model town extension on Thursday. Tinna was later released on bail. AAP district President Daliit Singh Grewal, senior leader Ahbab Singh Grewal and Spokesperson Darshan Singh Shankar condemned the case and termed it political conspiracy. According to information Gurkaran Singh Tinna along with his supporters was about to protest against former SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar who have allegedly encroached public for his security guards. Earlier also Tinna has staffed protest on the same issue and claimed to have given complaint to Municipal Corporation and Local bodies Minister. On Thursday SBS Nagar police arrested Tinna when he was on the way to park for protest. Ahbab Singh Grewal who staged protest against the false case outside Police commissioner office said that the case was registered on the behest of Congress government as the leaders of ruling party wanted to suppress AAP leaders ahead of MC elections. AAP demanded that the false case may be withdrawn at the earliest, otherwise Party will take the matter to the public and forced to hold demonstrations. They also warned that ruling party will not be allowed to misuse the power during elections. Advocate Mehak Gurkaran Tinna also condemned the case against her husband. Mehak Tinna, who is probable candidate for MC elections from number 69 said that the Congress and Akali Dal have joined hands against AAP but they will not bend before their pressure tactics.
