Ludhiana, October 10, 2017 : Village level HIV/AIDS campaign. The State of AIDS Control Society is organizing the HIV / AIDS campaign to educate the increasing population at village level. The AIDS awareness van reached CHC Koomkalan earlier today. Earlier, this van had spread awareness in Sidhwabet, Sudhar, Hathur, Pakhowal, Payal, Mananpur, Machiwara and Malaud areas. Stating this in the matter, the civil surgeon, Ludhiana, Hardeep Singh Ghai said that earlier this vigilance Van had visited 40 villages till this day. During this period, from 1/10/2017 to 9/10/2017, 695 people were tested for HIV out of whom all were found to be fine.He said that the Punjab State AIDS Control Society organized HIV awareness to spread awareness among the general public. Awareness vans are being run. This van covers 4 villages in a single day, and in the last village, Nukkad Nataks are performed to create awareness regarding the spread of wrong assumptions, abstinence and treatment related to the disease of AIDS. He said that with the van, a counselor and lab Technician’s duty has been imposed, who examine the people in villages.CHC Senior Medical Officer Dr. Kangal Senior Superintendent of Police Bhaviya Dalov flagged off the van. Senior Medical Officer said that many types of misconceptions have been found among AIDS people. He said that AIDS can spread in a variety of ways. It isn’t just because of unsafe sex but can also spread due through the syringes used for intoxication.AIDS can also spread if the transfusion of blood is done without the screening of the donor. Also, it may spread through blades at barber’s shop or by tattoos, etc. He informed that the real safety from AIDS is information about it. If a person gets infected with HIV / AIDS, he can live a long life with regular medicines and balanced diet and taking care of his health. He told that AIDS does not spread by sitting together or touching, (village level HIV/AIDS campaign) etc.
