DP Correspondent, Ludhiana: BDPO raids illegal mining site. The Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) Amarinder pal Singh raided illegal mining site at village Talwandi near Sidhwan Bet and caught three persons for illegal mining. The accused were mining sand illegally from village. A tractor trolley and other machinery used for mining was also impounded from the site. Following the complaint of BDPO Amarinder pal Singh the Ludhiana Rural Police have registered case against three persons under section of IPC and mining act at Police station Bhundri.Giving information, BDPO said that while checking he found that the local residents were mining sand illegally and later sell it in market. He raided the illegal mining site and found a person was mining sand. His two accomplishments helped him in escaping from spot but the police was informed immediately and case was slapped against accused. The accused has been identified as Manga Singh, Jarnail Singh and Prem Singh. Area residents said that mining was going on in village and surrounding areas from last many years but action was taken after the newly joined BDPO conducted raid. While giving warning, BDPO said that strict action would be taken against illegal mining and checking will continue in coming days also. BDPO raids illegal mining site.
