Chhapar Mela Sukhbir Badal attacks Congress for shutting welfare schemes. Chhapar Mela organizes every year at Raikot and the political parties stage their conferences. Meanwhile, former deputy CM, Sukhbir Badal took shots at Congress. While addressing the people at Chhapar mela, Sukhbir said that it is for the first time in the history of Punjab politics that a political party failed to fulfill any of the public welfare promises made by them in their manifesto.He said that all the schemes such as Shagun Scheme, Scholarships for SC students, Bicycles for needy girls started by the Akali Dal during their reign have been discontinued by the Congress party.
Sukhbir Singh Badal also added that the electricity unit rate has also increased after the congress party has taken over Punjab. He lashed onto CM Capt Amarinder Singh and said that by next 5 years the Congress party would not do a single thing.Sukhbir badal further added that job fair was a well devised plan of congress party in which engineering students were said that they don’t have the required skills and will be given training about it after which jobs will be offered to them. He threw a light on the work done by Akalis on the beautification of religious and historic places. Badal said that former CM Parkash Singh Badal had personally visited every corner of the state to remain connected with the people and also all the government schools were built in the tenure of Akali Dal. He finally concluded that Congress party has done nothing for the welfare of Punjab so far, instead they have discontinued the welfare schemes initiated by Akalis in their reign.While targeting Congress, Former minister Bikram Majitha said that the way congress party is working and the kind of response they are getting from people of Punjab, they will not be able to complete their tenure of 5 years.
