Congress invites applications MC election tickets: The Congress party has invited applications for the Municipal Corporation (MC) Ticket from January 11 to 18. The party has fixed the criteria of Winability for ticket allocation. The state Congress president Sunil Jakhar has also formed committee headed by Cabinet Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa for the selection of candidates.On Tuesday, a meeting of Congress Party was held at Chandigarh in which the leaders discussed the strategy for MC elections. The meeting was headed by Congress president Sunil Jakhar and local MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, MLAs Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Rakesh Pandey, Sanjay Talwar, district Congress president Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, Kamaljit karwal, Satwinder Bitti, Jagpal Khangura, Pawan Dewan, Amarjit Tikka, Gurmail Pehalwan were present.Talking to Daily Post, Gurpreet Gogi said that the aspirants for election ticket can submit the forms from January 11 to 18. Application forms will be available from the office of District Congress. After January 18, scrutiny Committee will call the applicant and finalised the ticket after the consent of MLAs. The criteria of giving ticket will be Winability of candidate.The leader who is associated with party and have played important role during Assembly elections will be considered on priority, added Gogi. He further said in those constituencies where MLA is of opposition party, the consent of leaders who contested Assembly election will be taken. On Monday, Congress president Sunil Jakhar has appointed Cabinet Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa as Poll observer for Ludhiana and formed three member committee headed by Bajwa and comprising MP Ravneet Bittu and district Congress president Gurpreet Gogi.
