Chandigarh(Narinder Jagga): The Facebook accounts of Gangsters, either who are in jail or have been killed, have been blocked by the Cybercrime wing of Punjab Police. Talking to Daily Post, AIG Cyber Crime Hardial Singh Mann told that whenever wing receives to report such action, it does. Sources said that fb accounts of notorious gangsters Larance Bishnoi, Sukha Kahlwan, Vicky Gounder, Daljit Bhana, Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and some others have been blocked. But the shadow accounts have been running from the outside of jails by the close associates of gangsters to give threats. Other hand after threats by gangsters, the Jail department has sought security for its jails Superintendents from Punjab Police.Sources told that action to block the fb accounts has been taken after the threatening call to the Chief Minister and DGP, Punjab from the Faridkot Jail. Sources told that some more accounts of fb are likely to be blocked as the investigation are going on. Sources in the Jail Department told that with the help of jail inmates, the information about the crimes in jail ,is being collected. Sources also disclosed that the jail department could able to break the communication link between the gangsters and its members inside and outside the jail. Although in 2017, 1547 mobiles phone had been seized in jails, but in three months January to March, 2018, 294 mobiles have been seized. Interestingly, the phone calling inside the jail booths has gone up to 30 percent after the surprise raids and recovery of mobiles. But now the operations of gangsters are continue from outside the jails by the other members of gangs.But after the strictness, the Jail officers are facing threats with dire consequences. Sources told that the Jail Department has written a letter to the Government to provide security to the Jail Superintendent and Deputy Jail Superintendents. Earlier a Deputy Superintendent of Jail had been killed in Jalandhar outside the jail in July 2015 after such types of threats. Under the present circumstances, the jail officers have been feeling insecure. Notable, numbers of posts are vacant in the jails. There are 26 jails in Punjab. Nine central jails, 7 district jails, 7 sub-jails, one women jail, one open jail and one borstal jail. Four posts of Superintendents of Jail are vacant in central jails, 14 Deputy Superintendents of Jails (DSJ) grade-1, 20 DSJs grade-2 are vacant. Besides supervisory posts, posts are laying vacant in other grade too.No support by Police.
Punjab Police does not seem in helping mood against crimes. Sources told that the Jail Department has sent its report of recovered mobile phones from Jail to take further action, but neither the Punjab Police started any investigation nor summon any employee of Jail department and inmate, till today. Data of recovered mobile was sent from January to March, 2018. When contacted to Jail Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, he said that he will discuss the issue with Chief Minister as well as DGP Punjab as it is serious issue.
