In a special drive against school vehicles, Regional Transport Authority (RTA) established checkpoints in different parts of city. While checking the vehicles, RTA impounded four buses and imposed challans of 23 vehicles. The checking of vehicles ferrying school students were conducted at Ferozepur road, Model town extension and Pakhowal road.According to information, the transport authority have checked the fifty vehicles of different schools including BCM senior secondary School, DAV Public School and others. While checking the officials found violations like absence of female attendant, without driving license, lack of first aid kits and others.RTA Lovejeet kalsi said that they have checked fifty vehicles at different checkpoints and has taken action against the violators. The drive will continue in coming days also, she added.Meanwhile the traffic Police has also established special checkpoints at jalandhar Bypass chowk and at ferozepur road. ADCP Traffic Sukhpal Singh Brar and ACP traffic Gurdev Singh was supervising the drive. The Police have challaned the buses for using pressure horns and other violations.
