Malout: A debt-ridden farmer of Urang village near Malout has reportedly committed suicide by jumping into a canal. The deceased has been identified as Jaswinder Singh (24).His body was recovered from the canal near Nandgarh village in Bathinda district yesterday. The police have started inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC. The Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC ) is the main legislation on procedure for administration of substantive criminal law in India.Sources said Jaswinder owed about Rs 8 lakh to a bank and a commission agent. He went missing three days ago. Jaswinder Singh owned about five acres and took some land on lease.
