Mohali ban harvesting combines. Magistrate and deputy commissioner of Mohali district Gurpreet Kaur Sapra has issued an order to ban on harvesting with combines from 7pm to 9am. In addition commissioner also imposed the ban on stubble burning. This order will be applicable to the entire district till November 30. District Magistrate informed that with the combines, the risk of accidents with combines increased and due to untimely rain on the paddy crop the farmers would have been directly affected. Humidity in paddy is higher than the specifications of the government and the procurement agencies are unable to purchase paddy, which is causing distress to the farmers in grain markets.
In addition to this, the farmers burn the waste crop which pollutes the environment. Besides this, District Magistrate has also imposed prohibitory orders on bringing weapons at marriage palaces or other ceremonies, the palace owner will immediately notify the police. All these orders will be continued till Nov 27, 2017. Apart from these District Magistrate has prohibited the use, sale and storage of China Door in the district.
